Composition
Le Parfum de Thérèse is a unisex eau de parfum from Frederic Malle, launched in 2000. It opens with Melon and Tangerine. The heart reveals Plum and Rose settling into a base of Leather, Vetiver and Cedar. Its character is defined by Fruity, Sweet and Woody accords.
To me this smells like a picnic that turned into something more — melon and tangerine juicy in the first breath, bright as a checked tablecloth in the sun. Then plum and rose arrive, darker and more serious, like the afternoon getting longer. Leather, vetiver, and cedar at the base are worn and dry — the picnic basket, the grass under the blanket, something adult in the air. It is the rare fruity scent with a backbone. Tangerine's brightness never fully fades, sunny through the drydown. Beginner-friendly.
