Composition
Launched in 2019 in the Le Gemme collection, composed by Sophie Labbe and inspired by red coral. Pink pepper and mandarin orange open over osmanthus, leather and orris, with ambergris and musk in the base. A floral-leathery scent with a marine inspiration.
This one unsettles me in the best way. Pink pepper and mandarin flash bright at first, like sunlight on water, and then osmanthus blooms — apricot skin, honeyed, slightly animalic — and leather slides in underneath, smooth and dark. Orris powder tries to civilize it, but the ambergris in the base keeps everything warm and faintly feral, like skin after swimming. It's coral in name only; there's nothing beachy here. This is precious stone as perfume — beautiful, strange, a little cold at the center. You have to be ready for it. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
