Composition
Eau de Lacoste L.12.12 Noir is Lacoste's 2013 Eau de Toilette for men, the nocturnal pillar of the L.12.12 line. Juicy watermelon opens over an aromatic heart of basil, lavender and verbena, settling on dark chocolate, patchouli, cashmeran and coumarin. It arrives in the black piqué-textured flacon with the embroidered green crocodile.
The opening is the hook — a cool, juicy watermelon note, fresh but already a little dark around the edges. Basil, lavender and verbena keep it aromatic and green, like a night breeze through a garden, and then the dry-down turns genuinely seductive: dark chocolate melting into patchouli and warm coumarin. It is sweeter and more mysterious than it first appears. In India this is an evening and date-night scent, best from October to March; the chocolate-sweet base gets heavy in summer heat. Performance is its weak point — spray generously. Beginner-friendly for anyone who likes sweet, fruity-woody scents, but sample first if you hate weak longevity.
