Composition
A discontinued Aromatic Fougere for men launched in 2002, Jeans Couture Man opens on myrtle, cardamom, bergamot and mandarin orange. Violet and nutmeg form the heart over a base of musk, sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli. It has become a sought-after vintage among Versace collectors.
To me this smells like a perfect pair of jeans — myrtle and cardamom green as new denim, bergamot and mandarin bright as the first wear. Violet and nutmeg soften the middle like broken-in cotton, and musk, sandalwood, and vetiver underneath are the well-worn fit. The patchouli at the base is soft earth, and the sandalwood is creamy — denim broken in to perfection. It smells like the most comfortable version of yourself. A discontinued classic that smells like ease itself: aromatic, woody, and completely unpretentious. Beginner-friendly.
