Composition
A Private Blend oriental-floral for women launched in September 2011, created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Ginger, cinnamon, bergamot, cardamom, pepper and mandarin orange open it; jasmine, ylang-ylang, neroli, broom and clary sage form the heart; amber, vanilla, woody notes, leather and French labdanum close it. A saturated, spiced sambac jasmine presented in a deep red flacon.
To me this smells like a night flower market in Bangkok — ginger, cinnamon, and pepper cracking over the stalls, bergamot bright as the bare bulbs, and then jasmine, heady and indolic, piled in garlands as far as you can see. Ylang and neroli sweeten the air, amber and labdanum underneath glowing like the coals under a street cart. The broom flower is honeyed and wild, and the French labdanum is amber and leather — the market stays open all night, and so does the jasmine. A Private Blend that goes full tropical: spiced, floral, and intoxicating. Jasmine with its hair down. Beginner-friendly.
