Scent story

To me this is a powder room in a palace, kept exactly as it was a hundred years ago. Carrot seeds, carnation and bergamot open — earthy, spicy, strange, like the smell of old makeup — and then iris, violet, rose and jasmine bloom, powdery and cool and impossibly refined, like silk gloves and pressed flowers. Musk, vetiver, cedar and incense dry it down into something dry and smoky and austere. It's the most elegant thing in this batch, and the most demanding. Powder done at this level is not for everyone. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
