Black PepperIntense Tiare is an eau de parfum by Montale, launched in 2005 and composed by Pierre Montale. It opens with ylang-ylang and black pepper, blooms into tiare flower, jasmine, orange blossom, tuberose and vetiver, and settles on vanilla, musk, guaiacwood and benzoin. Unisex, creamy-floral and sweet, it is a tropical white-floral built around the Tahitian gardenia.
The tiare flower is the star — creamy, buttery, sunshine-yellow in feeling, like frangipani garlands at a Goan beach shack. The ylang-ylang adds a ripe, almost banana-like sweetness, and the coconut facet of the flower itself makes it smell like an expensive sunscreen in the best way. The vanilla-benzoin dry-down is warm and cosy, like skin after a day in the sun. Made for Indian summers, beach holidays and daytime wear. Very beginner-friendly — a joyful, easy tropical floral that most people will love on first sniff.
