Composition
Guerlain's 1992 Eau de Toilette for men by Jean-Paul Guerlain, a sharp woody-spicy tribute to old values in a new age, in a bottle by Robert Granai. Lavender, aldehydes, juniper berries, clary sage and citrus open over a spiced floral heart of patchouli, coriander, carnation and orris, drying down to sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, cedar and musk.
Crisp lavender, aldehydes and bergamot open — sharp, green, polished like French polish on antique wood. The heart explodes with warm spice: coriander, pepper and pink pepper wrapped in carnation, orris and powdery florals, with earthy patchouli grounding everything. The dry-down is the legendary Guerlinade: creamy vanilla-amber with cedar, sandalwood, oakmoss and soft musk. A gentlemanly winter and evening scent for India — refined, confident, timeless; too formal for humid summer days. Not for beginners — a connoisseur's classic that rewards patience.
