Composition
Pi by Givenchy is an Oriental Woody fragrance for men launched in 1998, created by Alberto Morillas in a geometric bottle designed by Serge Mansau. Basil, rosemary, tarragon and neroli introduce freshness into this warm, oriental composition, with a strong note of guaiac wood standing in union with balmy notes of vanilla, tonka and benzoin resin.
This smells like the warmest library you've ever walked into. Basil, rosemary, tarragon and neroli open green and fresh — herbs on a windowsill — and then the warmth takes over: anise, geranium, lily-of-the-valley giving way to the famous base. Vanilla, almond, tonka and benzoin melt together like candle wax and old paper, guaiac wood smoking gently underneath. Morillas built an oriental you could live inside: sweet, balsamic, endlessly comforting. The geometric bottle promised the future; the scent delivered a hug. Beginner-friendly.
