Composition
Frangipani is a unisex eau de parfum from Ormonde Jayne, launched in 2003 and composed by Geza Schoen. Sparkling lime, linden blossom and magnolia open into an opulent floral heart of frangipani absolute, water lily, plum, tuberose and rose. Musk, Madagascar vanilla, amber and cedar soften the base.
To me this smells like a Goan courtyard in May — lime sparkling first, sharp as a sea breeze, linden blossom and magnolia sweet on the air. Then the frangipani: creamy, tropical, absolute, wrapped in water lily, plum, tuberose and rose like a garland too heavy to lift. Musk, Madagascar vanilla, amber and cedar soften it into warm skin at dusk. Opulent and sun-drunk — the tropics without the plane ticket. Pure floral luxury. Geza Schoen's tropical opus — the frangipani absolute here is the real thing, creamy and narcotic. Beginner-friendly.
