Composition
Figue Blanche (2019) by Marypierre Julien, from the Atelier Versace collection. A fruity-floral evoking Mediterranean summer: Italian bergamot, mandarin and black pepper open zesty and bright, leading to a heart of white fig, sambac jasmine and rose. The base of cedarwood, incense and ambrette is warm, woody and softly musky.
To me this smells like a fig orchard above the Mediterranean, white figs splitting ripe in the heat. Bergamot, mandarin and black pepper open zesty and bright, then white fig arrives milky and green and perfect, with sambac jasmine and rose drifting through like a sea breeze. Cedarwood, incense and ambrette warm the base like sun on wood. It is Atelier Versace at its most effortless: fruity, floral, and quietly luxurious. Summer, bottled by people who know summer. Black pepper sparks against the milky fig, a delicious friction. Beginner-friendly.
