Ylang-YlangStar note
OsmanthusA leather-forward eau de parfum from Paris Corner's Emir line. Osmanthus and ylang-ylang open floral and exotic, a bold heart of leather and musk adds depth, and tobacco, sandalwood and Virginian cedar round out the woody base.
To me this smells like the smoking room of a London gentlemen's club that doesn't exist anymore — osmanthus and ylang-ylang drifting in from some memory of a garden, immediately swallowed by leather. Not new leather: the cracked, lived-in leather of a chair that's heard a century of confessions. Tobacco curls through it, dry and papery, sandalwood and Virginian cedar paneling the walls. The musk in the heart is skin-warm, almost intimate, which makes the whole thing feel less like a museum and more like a dare. It wears you more than you wear it. And it knows it.
