To me this is a magnolia tree in a walled garden. Calabrian bergamot opens bright and green, like the first warm day of spring, and then magnolia blooms — creamy, lemony, perfect — with vetiver and patchouli keeping it earthy and real underneath, like roots you can smell. Moss, cedar and amber dry it down soft and woody, like the garden at dusk. It's Frederic Malle at his most gentle: a single flower, perfectly rendered. Quiet, beautiful, and completely easy.
