Composition
Dior Homme Eau de Toilette is a men's fragrance from Dior; the current EDT formulation dates to the 2011 revision of the 2005 original. It is an iris-centered woody-floral scent with Italian bergamot, sage and lavender in the opening, Italian iris extract, cocoa and amber in the heart, and Haitian and Indonesian patchouli with leather in the base.
To me this smells like the inside of a perfectly tailored suit. Bergamot and sage open crisp and clean, lavender adding that cool barbershop calm. Then the iris arrives — powdery, elegant, like face powder and old love letters — with cocoa softening it into something almost edible. The base is all quiet confidence: patchouli and a whisper of leather, the smell of a good wallet and better decisions. Modern masculinity at its most refined. An easy recommendation for most noses.
