Composition
Chapter 4 is a unisex oriental-woody eau de parfum by perfumer Nathalie Lorson, launched in 2025. It opens with olibanum and pink pepper, develops black cherry, caramel and davana in the heart, and settles into leather, sandalwood, cedarwood, Peru balsam, patchouli and cypriol.
To me this smells like the fourth chapter of a book you cannot put down. Olibanum opens like church incense curling through cold air, pink pepper sparking off it like static. Then it turns decadent — black cherry dark and boozy, caramel melting over it, davana adding this strange fruity-herbal twist that keeps you guessing. And the base is pure atmosphere: leather like an old library chair, sandalwood and cedar like the shelves, Peru balsam and patchouli like dust in a sunbeam, cypriol smoking at the edges. Sweet, smoky, and bookish all at once. It reads like a mystery novel smells. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
