To me it smells like walking into a Chandni Chowk mithai shop that's been struck by lightning — rose barfi and candied petals up front, all sugar and celebration, and then this deep, smoky oud rolling in underneath like thunder after the flash. Montal's Candy Aoud was always this beautiful contradiction: a dessert with a dark past. The sweetness makes the oud behave; the oud keeps the sweetness from ever getting childish. Sweet with a dark edge — most beginners will still love it.
