Composition
Cabriole is a unisex eau de toilette from Hermès, launched in 1969. It opens with Honeysuckle. The heart reveals Osmanthus settling into a base of Sandalwood. Its character is defined by Fruity, White Floral and Floral accords.
To me this is honeysuckle vines overgrowing a French country estate — honeysuckle first, sweet and wild, then osmanthus adding that apricot-leather richness, like sun-warmed fruit on stone. Sandalwood in the base is the old wooden door behind the vines. It is from 1969 and smells like it in the best way — unhurried, natural, completely unconcerned with trends. Just flowers and fruit and wood, perfect in their simplicity. Wearing it feels like inheriting something beautiful from a grandmother with excellent taste. Beginner-friendly.
