Composition
Brin de Réglisse is the 2007 Hermessence eau de toilette by Jean-Claude Ellena, a unisex lavender-licorice. Lavender, licorice, orange blossom and hay in a dry, herbal-sweet blend.
Brin de Réglisse — 'a sprig of licorice' — is Provence in a bottle. Lavender leads, aromatic and clean, then licorice root adds a dark, sweet-anis depth that is utterly distinctive. Orange blossom softens the edges, hay gives a dry, sun-warmed finish. It is herbal, unusual and quietly addictive — nothing else smells quite like it. A warm-weather oddity that stands apart from the crowd. Beginners should sample first; the licorice note is polarising, but converts are devoted.
