Composition
Boss Sport, launched in 1987, is a fresh aromatic eau de toilette for men. Marigold, lavender, artemisia, juniper, bergamot, amalfi lemon and mandarin orange open the scent, with a floral-spicy heart of carnation, tarragon, clary sage, geranium, rose, jasmine, nutmeg and lily. Oak moss, vetiver, musk, patchouli, virginia cedar, sandalwood, amber and tonka bean form the base.
To me this smells like a tennis club in Delhi in October — marigold garlands on the gate, lavender and juniper sharp in the morning air, citrus fizzing like a fresh can of balls being opened. It's green, it's clean, it's ready to play. The heart is all herbs and flowers: tarragon, clary sage, carnation with its clove-like snap, roses from the club garden. Then the classic base — oakmoss, vetiver, patchouli — dries it down like a well-worn blazer, amber and tonka just softening the edges. Old-school sporty, the kind that never needed athleisure. Beginner-friendly.
