Composition
Boss Selection, launched in 2006, is a woody-citrus eau de toilette for men. Pink pepper, grapefruit, mandarin orange and bergamot open the scent, with cedar needles, star anise and geranium at the heart. Musk, vetiver and patchouli form the dry-down.
To me this is a man who has his life together, or at least dresses like he does. Pink pepper and grapefruit and mandarin and bergamot snap open — bright, professional, a little spicy — and then cedar needles and star anise and geranium settle into something green and composed, like a well-cut suit. Musk, vetiver and patchouli dry it down clean and woody, the kind of base that smells like competence. It's an office scent in the best sense: present, polished, never distracting. You could wear this every day for a year and never get tired of it. Beginner-friendly.
