Composition
Bel Ami Vetiver is the 2013 men's eau de toilette by Jean-Claude Ellena, a vetiver-leather reinterpretation of the 1986 Bel Ami. Vetiver, Russian leather, elemi, styrax, amber, carnation, cardamom, iris, civet, vanilla, basil and patchouli in a dry, leathery-aromatic blend.
Bel Ami Vetiver is old-school perfumery at its finest — dry, leathery, uncompromising. Vetiver and Russian leather form a smoky, earthy core, spiced with cardamom and carnation, warmed by amber and styrax, with just a whisper of civet animality. It smells like a gentleman's club library: wood panelling, leather chairs, good tobacco. Strictly for the confident and the mature. Beginners be warned — this is serious, dry and not remotely sweet; sample first.
