The oud here is gentle — a soft, woody hum rather than a roar — letting the Damask rose take centre stage, velvety and slightly powdery. The incense adds a whisper of sacred smoke, like the tail end of agarbatti in a quiet room. The dry-down is all softness: musk, amber and creamy sandalwood melting into skin. It feels elegant and mature, the kind of scent for silk sarees and evening functions. More approachable than most Montale ouds, so moderately beginner-friendly — though the incense-resin character still deserves a sample first.
