Composition
Aoud Blue Notes is an eau de parfum by Mancera, launched in 2015 and composed by Pierre Montale. It opens with fruity notes, lemon, green notes, bergamot and mandarin orange, moves through violet, orris root, rose, ylang-ylang and patchouli, and rests on guaiac wood, leather, amber, sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla. Unisex, citrusy-woody and powdery, it is a fresh, blue-hued take on oud.
The opening is a burst of sparkling citrus — lemon, bergamot, mandarin — like a chilled nimbu pani on a hot afternoon. Then the violet and orris arrive, powdery and elegant, giving it a refined, almost cosmetic smoothness. The leather and guaiac wood in the base add a warm, smoky depth, with vanilla softening the edges. It is one of the freshest ouds you will ever smell — no barnyard, just clean woods and citrus. Very beginner-friendly and excellent for Indian weather; a safe way to explore oud without fear.
