Amir One is the first fragrance in Ajmal's signature Amir collection, an ode to seven decades of oriental perfumery expertise, launched in 2021. It opens with bergamot, lemon and lavender, develops rose, jasmine and lily of the valley in the heart, and settles into a musky-ambery-oudhy base of Ajmal oudh and Ruh Al Ward.
Scent story
To me this is Ajmal's origin story in a bottle. Bergamot, lemon and lavender open bright and barbershop-clean, then rose, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley bloom soft, and then the base arrives like a door slamming: agarwood, ruh al ward, musk, amber. That oud is the real thing, deep and woody, and it swallows the florals whole. One spray is a journey from a French garden to an Arabian majlis. The contrast is dramatic and deliberate. If florals are your comfort zone, this will drag you out of it by the collar. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
