Composition
Amarige is a Givenchy Eau de Toilette for women from 1991. It is a lush, old-school floral with an enormous pyramid — orange blossom, peach and neroli over tuberose, mimosa, gardenia and ylang-ylang, on a sandalwood, amber and vanilla base. It is famous for its radiant, joyful abundance of flowers.
Imagine a giant wedding mandap drowned in tuberose, gardenia, jasmine and mimosa — Amarige is that overwhelming, golden-hour floral joy in a bottle. It bursts open with juicy peach and orange blossom, then layer upon layer of creamy white and yellow flowers unfold for hours. Underneath, warm sandalwood and vanilla keep it soft rather than sharp. It's a big, vintage-style statement — think mother-of-the-bride elegance. Not for the faint of heart or for peak summer afternoons. Beginners to classic perfumery will find it beautiful but intense; test before committing.
