Composition
Acqua di Giò Eau de Toilette is the 1996 original that defined the aquatic genre for men, created by Alberto Morillas and Jacques Cavallier. An aromatic aquatic built on citrus and sea notes over jasmine and calone, grounded in musk, cedar, oakmoss and amber.
The one that started it all. Acqua di Giò smells like the Mediterranean imagined from a great height — sparkling citrus, a bracing marine accord, and that clean, almost soapy freshness that a thousand imitators have chased ever since. The oakmoss and musk base gives it a quiet masculinity underneath the freshness. In Indian heat it is unbeatable: cooling, clean, endlessly wearable. The trade-off is ubiquity — everyone knows this smell. Beginners cannot go wrong; it is the safest blind buy in men's perfumery.
