Viking Cologne is an aromatic-fougere eau de parfum for men by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed, launched in 2021 as a fresher counterpart to Viking (2017). It opens with bergamot, lemon, mandarin orange and pink pepper, develops geranium, lavender, nutmeg, rosemary and sage in the heart, and settles into sandalwood, frankincense, patchouli, cedarwood and vetiver.
Scent story
To me this smells like a fjord in late spring. Bergamot, lemon and mandarin open cold and bright — spray off black water — with pink pepper crackling like frost. Then the herb garden: geranium and lavender, nutmeg and rosemary and sage, green and aromatic as a mountainside. The base warms it into something human — sandalwood and cedar, vetiver earthy underneath, frankincense and patchouli smoking faintly like a distant fire. Fresher than the original Viking, but it keeps the soul: cold air, green herbs, and woodsmoke on the horizon. Beginner-friendly.
