Composition
Versace Man (2003) by Domitille Michalon Bertier, an elegant woody-spicy fragrance for charismatic men. Pepper, angelica, neroli and bergamot open fresh and peppery, leading to a heart of saffron and cardamom. The base of tobacco, amber, cashmere wood and labdanum gives it a warm, mellow oriental character with a subtle Latino vibe.
To me this smells like a study in an old palazzo — pepper, angelica, and neroli bright on the desk, saffron and cardamom warming the air like good brandy. Tobacco, amber, and labdanum underneath are the leather chairs and old books, cashmere wood the panelled walls. The angelica is green and musky, almost gin-like, and the cashmere wood is soft and enveloping — power that does not need to perform. Elegant, woody-spicy, and quietly commanding: the scent of a man who does not need to raise his voice. Beginner-friendly.
