Composition
Green Jeans (1996), part of Versace's Jeans collection in the signature green can designed by Gianni Versace. A citrus-aromatic woody composition: lime, lemon, aldehydes, bergamot, lavender, petitgrain and tarragon open fresh and gleeful, spiced in the heart by caraway, geranium, carnation, jasmine, coriander and rose, over a base of fir, cedar, oakmoss, musk and amber.
To me this smells like a citrus grove next to a pine forest. Lime and lemon burst sharp and green at first — almost electric — with aldehydes adding a sparkling, champagne-like lift. Lavender and petitgrain give it that classic aromatic backbone, tarragon and caraway adding a strange herbal twist. The florals are a soft blur underneath — geranium, carnation, jasmine, rose — and the fir-cedar-oakmoss base is pure forest floor: green, mossy, grounded, amber and musk warming it. It is the most interesting of the Jeans line, fresh but with real depth. Beginner-friendly.
