Composition
Blonde (1995) by Nathalie Feisthauer, created as a tribute to Donatella Versace. An intensive, seductive floral built around tuberose: gardenia, violet, pitosporum, neroli and bergamot open silky-sweet, followed by a heady heart of tuberose, ylang-ylang, narcissus and carnation. The base of civet, benzoin and musk is animalic, warm and luxurious.
To me this smells like a 1995 supermodel's dressing room — gardenia, violet, neroli and bergamot opening silky-sweet, and then tuberose, huge and heady, ylang-ylang, narcissus and carnation piling on like flashbulbs. Underneath: civet — animalic, musky, feral — benzoin and musk trying to civilize it and mostly failing. A tribute to Donatella, intensive and seductive — the civet base is pure vintage daring. This is not a perfume, it's a time machine with teeth. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
