Composition
Vanisia is a 1987 Eau de Parfum from Creed, created by Olivier Creed for the Queen of Spain. An oriental inspired by Indian dusk, it blends bergamot with Bulgarian rose and jasmine over a sumptuous base of sandalwood, vanilla, amber and ambergris. Rich, sensual and timeless — one of Creed's great classic feminines.
Vanisia smells like the India of perfumers' dreams — bergamot flashing briefly before Bulgarian rose and jasmine bloom into something creamy and golden, and then the vanilla and amber take over completely, warm and enveloping as a pashmina at twilight. The sandalwood keeps it smooth and the ambergris adds a salty, skin-like depth that stops it from becoming merely sweet. It is unapologetically old-school glamour; in modern India it will feel most at home at weddings and festive evenings. Not for beginners seeking freshness — this is for the lover of rich, vintage-style orientals.
