Ursa is a unisex extrait de parfum from Tiziana Terenzi, launched in 2015 and created by Paolo Terenzi. It opens with Nutmeg, Elemi, Dried Fruits and Rum, reveals a heart of Patchouli, Olibanum, Incense, Tobacco and Vetiver, and settles into Vanilla, Leather and Agarwood. Its character is defined by warm spicy, sweet and woody accords.
To me this smells like a pirate's cabin below deck — rum and dried fruits sticky-sweet in the lamplight, nutmeg and elemi spicing the air like a map of everywhere the ship has been. It's the opening of an adventure novel. Then it goes dark: patchouli, olibanum and incense thick as cannon smoke, tobacco leaf dry and dangerous, vetiver like wet rope. Vanilla tries to sweeten the ending, but the leather and agarwood won't let it — this is oud with a cutlass, and it fights dirty. Ursa means bear. It earns the name.
