Composition
Diva, launched in 1983 and created by Jacques Polge, is Ungaro's first perfume — dedicated to women, with 'Diva' meaning goddess in Italian, built around rose, Ungaro's symbol. Aldehydes, tuberose, coriander and bergamot open onto Turkish and Moroccan roses, carnation and ylang-ylang over honey, oakmoss, civet, sandalwood, amber and vanilla.
Diva is a prima donna in a bottle — classic aldehydic florals with a citrusy gleam, tuberose and spice, blooming into a heart of Turkish and Moroccan roses wrapped in ylang-ylang and carnation. The finale is sweet and sensual: honey, oakmoss, civet, sandalwood and vanilla, like velvet and candlelight. The bottle imitates the curves of the female body, one of Ungaro's idols. This is grand, old-school perfumery — rich, complex and unapologetically feminine. Best in cool weather and evening settings; in India it belongs to winter nights and festive occasions. Not for beginners — its aldehydes, animalics and vintage opulence demand an experienced nose.
