Composition
Launched in 2002, Truth is a floral eau de toilette for women. Bamboo, Clover and Bergamot open the scent, followed by Lily and Peony in the heart. Musk and Vanilla form the base.
To me this smells like a bamboo grove in Coorg after the mist lifts — green, wet, impossibly fresh, clover and bergamot sparkling like the first clear thought of the day. It's the smell of honesty, or at least the smell of wanting to be honest. Lily and peony bloom in the heart, soft and unguarded, mimosa adding that powdery golden warmth, blackberry just dark enough to keep it interesting. Sandalwood runs through everything like a calm voice, and the musk-vanilla-amber base is the softest landing in early-2000s perfumery. Green, gentle, and quietly radical in its simplicity. Beginner-friendly.
