Composition
Tobacco Oud Intense is a woody spicy Eau de Parfum launched in 2017 in the Private Oud subcollection. A deeper, richer interpretation of the 2013 Tobacco Oud, it combines Arabic Doha tobacco and oud with coriander and labdanum opening over a heart of tobacco, musk and cedarwood, resting on amber, tonka, oud, patchouli and sandalwood with castoreum warmth.
To me this smells like the inside of a gentlemen's club that doesn't exist anymore. Doha tobacco opens dark and honeyed — pipe smoke, dried fruit, old leather chairs — labdanum and coriander adding resinous spice, and then the oud rises underneath like smoke from a fire you can't see. Musk, cedar, amber, tonka and patchouli build the body, castoreum adding a feral warmth that keeps it from ever feeling safe. Deeper and richer than the original Tobacco Oud, and twice as demanding. This is not a scent; it's a presence that enters the room before you do. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
