Composition
Scandal is Jean Paul Gaultier's 2017 feminine pillar fragrance by Daphné Bugey, Fabrice Pellegrin and Christophe Raynaud — the first JPG scent launched with Puig. Blood orange and mandarin sparkle over a honeyed heart of gardenia, orange blossom, jasmine and peach, on a gourmand base of beeswax, caramel, patchouli and licorice. The bottle's golden legs stopper is instantly iconic.
Blood orange fizzes at the opening, bright and juicy, then the honey arrives — thick, golden, almost boozy — wrapped in white flowers and peach. The dry-down is pure indulgence: beeswax, caramel and a whisper of licorice over earthy patchouli, like honey dripping over warm skin. It's loud, sweet and unapologetically sexy — made for Indian festive nights and winter parties, overwhelming in summer afternoons. Beginners who love sweet gourmands will adore it; minimalists should sample first.
