Sayat Nova (2020) is a limited-edition extrait co-created by Dmitry Bortnikoff and Rajesh Balkrishnan, named for the Armenian troubadour poet. Apricot and narcissus open it; rum and vanilla form the heart; Laotian, Bengal and Trat ouds with oakmoss ground the base -- a three-way tango of oud oils, osmanthus-like apricot and rum.
Scent story
Sayat Nova is boozy opulence: ripe apricot and sugary rum over thick dark ouds, tamed by vanilla and oakmoss. Sweet, smoky, fruity-woody -- a gourmand-oud hybrid with 10-12 hour staying power. Beginners: the rum-apricot opening is delicious, but the oud core is serious; sample first, winter evenings.
