Composition
A legendary 1978 powerhouse also known as Pour Homme: aldehydic citrus and coriander crash into a leathery, patchouli-heavy heart, then settle into animalic castoreum, moss and incense-like olibanum. Bone-dry, smoky and fiercely masculine.
To me this smells like a spice garden in Kerala, aldehydes, coriander, bergamot, thyme and lemon growing wild between the pepper vines. A little later leather, patchouli, jasmine, vetiver and spruce spread through, warm and unhurried. And the jasmine never quite leaves, rich without shouting. Last of all come castoreum, moss, olibanum, labdanum and musk, rounded, never sharp, like embers after the fire. It smells like a room you never want to leave, bottled.
