Scent story

The opening is a burst of jammy rose and raspberry with a clove-cinnamon tingle, like rose sharbat with a pinch of garam masala. Then the incense smoke rolls in — thick, resinous, almost solemn — and the whole thing turns dark and brooding. The dry-down is pure comfort: warm amber, myrrh and a nutty chestnut sweetness that glows like embers. It is heavy, long-lasting and demands cool air; in Indian summers it will be too much, but on a December evening in North India it is magnificent. Not for beginners — the incense and spice need a seasoned nose, so sample first.
