Annick Menardo's diva of an oriental: apple brandy (calvados), saffron and bergamot open into May rose, geranium, myrrh and cinnamon, over a resounding base of leather, frankincense and labdanum. Elegant, intense and unmistakably Amouage.
Scent story
To me this smells like fresh linen on warm skin — Brandy, warm and golden, crisp apple, juicy and bright, saffron, metallic-spicy and golden and bright bergamot, sparkling citrus soft as a whisper. Then Benzoin, warm golden resin, myrrh, bitter-sweet resin, cinnamon, warm and fiery, may rose, fresh and dewy and geranium, rosy-green and sharp arrive, softening the edges and pulling the whole composition inward, closer to the skin. There is a boozy hum running through all of it, tying every layer together. Finally Leather, dark and supple, olibanum, bright sacred resin and labdanum, dark ambery resin remain, like embers glowing softly under everything. This one does not ask for attention; it simply deserves it. Beginner-friendly — soft, sweet, and impossible to dislike.
