Composition
Something Blue, launched in January 2013 and composed by Frank Völkl, is Oscar de la Renta's bridal-inspired Eau de Parfum — named for the wedding rhyme's 'something blue'. Bergamot, mandarin, neroli and linden blossom open onto stephanotis, narcissus, lily-of-the-valley and lychee over white musk, ambergris and bourbon vanilla.
Something Blue is the scent of the happiest day — it opens with a luminous burst of mandarin and linden blossom, fresh as morning light through a window, then unfolds into a bouquet of wedding flowers: stephanotis from Oscar's own Dominican garden, narcissus, lily-of-the-valley and a kiss of lychee. The white musk, ambergris and bourbon vanilla base is soft, warm and lasting — like a promise kept. Made for brides but beautiful for anyone who loves radiant white florals. In India it is perfect for daytime weddings and spring celebrations. Very beginner-friendly — clean, joyful and romantic.
