Composition
An oriental-woody for men launched in 2015, created by Sonia Constant. Mandarin orange, neroli, saffron, cardamom and nutmeg open it; the heart centers on Indian kulfi dessert with mastic, rose, jasmine and orange blossom; amber, sandalwood and vanilla ground the base. Amber-drenched and gourmand-leaning, it was fronted in campaign by Tom Ford himself.
To me this smells like a kulfi cart appearing on a Delhi street at 11pm, when the night finally cools. Cardamom, nutmeg and saffron open warm and spiced, mandarin and neroli flashing bright — and then the kulfi heart arrives, dense and creamy and sweet, ringed with rose, mastic and orange blossom. Vanilla, amber and sandalwood melt it all into the night air. It is amber-drenched and gourmand and completely indulgent, the rare men's scent that smells like dessert and gets away with it. Beginner-friendly.
