Composition
Neroli Portofino is a citrus aromatic Eau de Parfum launched in 2011, inspired by the Italian Riviera. It opens with a sparkling citrus-herbal burst of bergamot, mandarin, lemon, bitter orange, lavender, rosemary and myrtle. The heart features African orange flower, neroli, jasmine and pittosporum over a warm base of amber, ambrette and angelica.
To me this smells like the Italian Riviera in a convertible — bergamot, mandarin, lemon, bitter orange exploding like sunshine, lavender, rosemary and myrtle green and herbal as the cliffs. African orange flower and neroli bloom white and honeyed in the heart, jasmine and pittosporum softening, amber and ambrette warming the base like sun on skin. Sparkling, aristocratic freshness — the most famous citrus in modern perfumery. Pure, uncomplicated joy in a bottle. Inspired by the Italian Riviera, it's the benchmark citrus — everything else gets measured against it. Beginner-friendly.
