Composition
Lys Fume is a floral Eau de Parfum launched in 2012 in the Private Blend Jardin Noir collection. It captures tropical intoxication with liquor-soaked dreams in a garden of white lilies: Italian mandarin, pink pepper, turmeric and nutmeg open over white lily, ylang-ylang, artemisia and West Indian rum, settling into Madagascar vanilla, labdanum, styrax and oak.
To me this smells like a rum bar in a lily greenhouse — nutmeg, turmeric, and pink pepper sparking at the door, mandarin bright as the glass roof, then white lily, huge and narcotic, over ylang and a pour of dark rum. Madagascar vanilla, oak, and styrax underneath are the old barrels in the corner. The styrax is sweet resin and a little smoky, and the artemisia is bitter green — the rum stays smooth, but the edges stay interesting. Tropical intoxication, bottled: floral, boozy, and dangerously smooth. Beginner-friendly.
