Composition
Love in Black is a 2008 Eau de Parfum from Creed, created by Olivier Creed and Erwin Creed and inspired by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. A daring floral-oriental, it blends Italian violet, Florentine iris and clove with Virginia cedar, Tonkin musk, blackcurrant and Bulgarian rose. Mysterious, powdery and unapologetically feminine, in a black volcanic-sand flacon.
Love in Black opens like velvet in a dark room — Parma violets, powdery and a little smoky, over the dry pencil-shaving elegance of Virginia cedar. The Florentine iris and clove turn it warm and spicy, like the inside of a vintage handbag, before blackcurrant and Bulgarian rose add a dark, jammy sweetness. It is not a bright or easy floral; it is the scent of a woman who arrives after everyone else and leaves first. In India it suits evenings and cooler months best — the powder can feel heavy in harsh afternoon heat. Not a beginner's first niche buy, but a superb second or third for lovers of dark florals.
