To me this smells like Diwali evening in a house that cooks well — yuzu and bergamot bright as marigold torans at the door, sweet orange and mandarin like the mithai boxes stacked in the hallway. It's the Issey citrus you know, but someone's turned up the warmth. The spices build like the evening does: nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, a thread of saffron, all glowing over lotus. Then the resins — incense, benzoin, amber — settle in like diyas being lit one by one, papyrus and ambergris giving it that dry, golden depth. The original was water. This is water with the sun going down in it. Beginner-friendly.
