Composition
Launched in 2015 in the first Le Gemme collection, inspired by turquoise. Galbanum and cardamom open over iris and tobacco, with benzoin, patchouli and vanilla in the base. An exotic spicy-oriental.
To me this is a jewel box lined with velvet, kept in the dark. Galbanum and cardamom open green and spiced, sharp as cut stone, and then iris and tobacco bloom — powdery, dry, smoky-sweet, like the inside of a very old library where someone smokes. It's strange and beautiful in equal measure. Benzoin, patchouli and vanilla dry it down into something balsamic and golden, warm as lamplight. This is niche in the true sense: it doesn't care if you like it. Tobacco and iris together is a combination for the brave. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
