Composition
Launched in 2019 in the Le Gemme Men collection, composed by Jacques Cavallier and inspired by falcon's eye. Nutmeg and cinnamon open over cypriol oil and olibanum, with agarwood, black musk and saffron in the base. A deep woody-black musk with oud.
To me this smells like descending into a cellar where oud wood has been aging for decades. Nutmeg and cinnamon spark like struck matches, then the darkness closes in — agarwood deep, resinous, almost medicinal, with cypriol adding its smoky, leathery earth. Olibanum rises like incense in a sealed room, and saffron threads red-gold through the black. Black musk settles at the bottom like sediment in old wine. This is oud as geology: ancient, dense, and utterly uncompromising. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
