Composition
Amethyst by Lalique is a 2007 Floral Fruity fragrance for women, composed by Nathalie Lorson. Inspired by the purple gemstone, it blends juicy dark berries with peony, rose and ylang-ylang over a musky vanilla base. The purple flacon with crystal blackberry motifs references René Lalique's 1920 'Epines' design.
It opens like a bowl of crushed dark berries — blackcurrant, blackberry, mulberry — juicy and vivid without being childish. The heart is soft peony and rose with a peppery sparkle that keeps it grown-up, and the base melts into creamy bourbon vanilla and clean musk. For Indian festive evenings and winter days, this is a gorgeous, affordable jewel of a scent — sweet but sophisticated. Very beginner-friendly: fruity-floral, easy to wear, hard to dislike. The only caveat is the berry opening can read slightly synthetic in extreme heat, so it shines brightest from October to March.
