Composition
Jasmin au Soleil (2019) by Nathalie Lorson, from the Atelier Versace collection. A floral-musk celebrating Indian jasmine picked at sunrise: jasmine and jasmine tea open fresh and luminous, complemented by freesia, hay and tobacco in the heart. French beeswax with balsamic, honeyed facets and cedarwood form a velvety, sun-warmed base.
This is Indian jasmine picked at sunrise, and Nathalie Lorson got the hour exactly right. Indian jasmine and jasmine tea open luminous and green — that first-light freshness when the flowers are still cool — lemon adding a bright sparkle. It smells like a field waking up. Freesia, hay, and a whisper of tobacco in the heart give it warmth and texture, like sun on dry grass, and beeswax and cedar in the base make it honeyed and woody and golden. It is a floral-musk, but a thoughtful one — jasmine with a story, told at dawn. Beginner-friendly.
